Health, Safety & Environmental Administrator

EMC is seeking a qualified Health, Safety & Environmental Administrator to join our team, who will report to the HSE & HU Manager for our Kincardine/Bruce Site location. The HS&E administrator supports the department with services, documentation, reporting, and training functions.


  • Updating the EMC Corporate Risk Assessments with input from HSE Officers and HSE & HU Manager;

  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes to identify and control hazards and environmental risks;

  • Provide support to identify and develop/secure necessary HS&E training to ensure EMC has the capability to meet the EMC qualification/competency requirements;

  • Interface with project teams and HSE Officers internally to ensure alignment and continued engagement of the HS&E Program

  • Assists with developing the processes, plans, policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and guidelines for the HSE & HU department

  • Trend and report on H&S and HU data from behaviour observations, Event Free Day Resets and event investigations and identify Areas For Improvement (AFIs)

  • Support HSE Officers with Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, executing monthly trending reports to the HSE & HU Manager,

  • Attend meetings as required, diarize and follow-up on action items

  • Recommend efficiencies that will improve the department operation and EMC

Job Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma/certification in a related field; EH&S, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene is preferred.

  • 0-2 years of closely related workplace experience.

  • Knowledge of OHSA 18001, ISO 14001 and regulations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience trending data and providing analysis

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact positively with all levels inside and outside the organization

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills

  • Proactive and excellent problem solver

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills

  • Excellent planning, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to work independently
